We have been using our latest learning platform since June 2008. About 98% of schools in the local authority have signed up to use the platform. Across the authority there are some good examples from subject areas and the same could be said of Tideway.
I would like to use this Blog to open up a discussion in school about the use of the learning platform.
The Blog will be 'open' until the end of November.
Your posts can be anonymous - no problems with that - but should be honest!
DID YOU KNOW - in a survey held in September teaching staff said that the greatest barrier to use of the learning platform in the classroom was a lack of understanding in relation to e-pedagogy - so it's not lack of classroom access to PCs or lack of technical skills in the use of the platform that holds teachers back, but an understanding of how platform applications can be used to support teaching.

I completely agree with the commenty about not understanding the link between learning, teaching and using the learing platform. If we had more whole school training with the basics and then time as a gropu to discuss this could empower and allow staff more confidence to explore possibilities, MH
